There was one gift worth mentioning. Zane has been wanting some sort of pet of his own for several years now. We got one of our dogs on his birthday hoping that would fulfill his need for pet ownership. Unfortunately, it didn't work. What he really wanted was some sort of rodent, like a rat! Or, a snake...even worse. I can't believe I agreed to this, but we got him a snake. It's a female corn snake...about 8-10 inches long. Even with my aversion to all thinks remotely slimy, scaly, or slithery...she is sort of cute. She has red and white stripes/dots and a little pink tongue. Roger has been keeping her at the office for the last 2 weeks and the staff has sort of adopted her. One of the gals at the clinic named her Shelia and Zane has decided to go with that. If your name is Shelia...no offense intended. Before we discovered she is a girl, I thought we could call her Satan...
If you click on the picture, it will enlarge and you'll see her pink eyes... ugh!

You are a BRAVE woman! Definitely contending for Mother of the Year!
We do 3 presents as well for the same reason!! I thought we were the only ones. And now I find that Super Cool Trish does it! I must be destined for coolness eventually!
You have GOT to be kidding! Well, I guess I shouldn't be surprised! Zane is a lot like his dad, and likes to have his fingers in lots of things. Hopefully his fingers will be safe with Sheila!
Okay Trish, I am so not letting Logan talk to Zane on Sunday about what they got for Christmas!!! :)
I can just hear it now...."But Mom, Zane got this really cool snake for Christmas...."
I second Sylvia's statement!!! I am afraid to let Jacob know what Zane got for Christmas. All I will hear is what awesome parents Zane has! Trish- you are one brave woman.
You are a better woman than I, I just can't bring myself to let the kids have a snake in the house. If they really want one, they can find one outside I'm sure! Eeeeek!
Oh MY, Trish! You are a brave, brave soul! I'm am SO glad I have girls! The younger 2 like snakes, but hopefully will never thing of wanting to OWN one!!! EWWWWWWWW! I hope you post about the first time it gets out of it's cage. :0)
BTW: This is our 2nd or 3rd year I think of doing 3 gifts per child. They think it's cool to be like Jesus in that way, as long as they don't actually get frankincense and myrhh...they'd probably be okay with gold, LOL! They get SO SO SO many gifts from extended family. What really nipped it for me this year was that after Thanksgiving I had to go through their rooms, specifically the youngest's room, and get rid of things to make space for incoming gifts. While doing this I ended up getting rid of toys that they received last year and NEVER PLAYED WITH!!!! Really, honestly, even with 3 gifts, they can only play with one at a time! :0)
