Let's hope we have a pretty 2008! OK, I'm going to share one of my dark secrets... I give inanimate things living characteristics. I treat nonliving things like they are alive, sometimes. My earliest memory of doing this was when I was about 12... In the old days, when I used hot rollers in my hair, I would be sure to use 1/2 the rollers one day, and then the other 1/2 the next day because I didn't want their feelings to be hurt. I was sure they would be sad since they had to go through the pain of being burning hot, but then not get to be used. I rotate my dishes so that none of them gets used more than any other. Every card I make has a personality and I try to use older ones first. Anyway, along those lines, I also think that numbers have a personality. I think that 3, 6, 8, and 0 are the nicest numbers. 4, 5 and 9 are mean numbers. 1, 2, and 7 are sort of in between. So, now I've passed this psychosis on to my kids and Katie informed me that 2008 is prettier than 2007. Now you know...I'm crazy!
We had a nice evening... I am so loving these Gilligan shows. I really love the head-hunter ones. Do you remember the one when the HHs show up looking for a "white goddess" to throw into the volcano? Gilligan dresses up a "Gilliana" to protect the girls and hope the HHs will take all of them to a different island so they can get away. Well...the king HH falls for Gilliana and makes a pass at her. Funny!
It's windy, but pretty today. Roger has been flying pretty much all day. He promised to take the Christmas stuff up to the attic, but has been gone. I am so ready to get this stuff put away so I can get the living room back in shape. So, to make him feel bad, I took everything up stairs and was able to get all but the tree and 2 big boxes up to the attic. He didn't even notice! I about killed myself on the attic stairs for nothing! AND, I broke a nail!!
Now that's NOT pretty!

Oh Trish! You are sooo funny! I love the personality thing. We all do something sort of like that. Ok, maybe not quite that much, but something. I catch myself counting while I'm walking. All of a sudden I realize I'm mumbling...87, 88, 89, 90, 91...what?! How long have I been counting in my head?! Anyway, you've got to love the Andy Griffith show. We have the first 6 seasons (there are 8, I think), and we love them. Anyway, Happy New Year!!
Trish, thank you, thank you, thank you for the laughs!! My little world needs some humor today, as I am facing a day of laundry, and cleaning, and POSSIBLY sewing Anna's curtains!!
Ok, I'll confess my own weirdness...I've always felt like dolls and stuffed animals have feelings. Last night I found myself tucking in Anna Mary's American Girl dolls in their beds with a warm flannel pillowcase because they are next to the window, and I felt like they would be too cold if left uncovered. I also don't like to see stuffed animals thrown around, as if they might get hurt or start crying. Wow, even writing that scares me. :/ We are all just children in adult bodies.
Wow Jarrod and Melissa! I count steps too! And, I count stairs! I can tell you how many stairs are in each area of our house! And I feel sorry for the toys that the kids don't play with...like those toys are being neglected... I think we just have tender hearts!
Bahahaha! I was just talking about the book Born on a Blue Day with Becky M. and she mentioned your post. This book is about a guy who thinks some numbers are nicer than others and such but he's on the autistic end of the spectrum. Don't worry, I don't think you are there but everyone does have their own little quirks like that and I love it! :D Fun to know about your blog. I was wanting to call you the other day and just see what your family was up to but then I remembered I don't really like the tele much. It's like a really ugly # would be for you. The phone gives me threatening glances at times and makes me feel uneasy. On the other hand, my computer is all too friendly and I have to purposely ignore it sometimes. These are the little challenges we face daily with our inanimate objects I'm afraid. ;)
Hey Trish,
just wanted to say hey.. and that I love to read your blog. See you soon,
Sherri
